Area golfers most difficult club chose for the weekend may be which course and tournament to play in, as all three area golf courses host tournaments.

 

Tournament Schedule For Friday, August 22nd

 

Birch Ridge Golf Course: Bassackwards Scramble

Birch Ridge will turn the course around on Friday, August 22nd for the annual Bassackwards Scramble.

Time: 6:00 pm    Shotgun Entry: $50 ($40 for BRGA members)

The Bassackwards is a BRGA fundraiser for junior golf. Sign your team up in the pro-shop or sign up individually and be matched-up on a team.

Teams do not need to have A-B-C-D players, but must have a total team handicap over 60. All players must have a valid USGA handicap or have a Birch Ridge Pro (Bill Engberg, Tom Walsh, or Nolan Rose) assign you an appropriate HCP.

Tournament Schedule For Saturday, August 23rd

 

Birch Ridge Golf Course: Serenity Tournament 

Time: 3:00 pm    Shotgun start

The Serenity House will be hosting a 9-hole scramble at Birch Ridge Saturday.

The golf course will remain open for public play. Golfers can make tee times for regular play before 2:00 pm on Saturday or after 4:00 pm.

 

Bird Homestead Golf Course: Fall Classic Tournament

The 10th annual Bird Homestead Fall Classic is an 18-hole, scramble format.  All proceeds from this tournament will benefit the Caribou Hills Cabin Hoppers.

Registration closes at 9 a.m., shotgun start at 10 a.m.

Bring your own 4-man team, or tournament will put one together for you.

A pig roast dinner and ceremony immediately following the tournament.

Kenai Golf Course: Kenai Open

2-Day, 18 holes each day

The format is handicap stroke play with tee times beginning at 10 a.m.

The tournament fee is $100 which includes lunch both days and two rounds of championship golf. The registration deadline for this event is August 22 at 6 p.m.

Prizes will be awarded to first through fifth places based on net score. The overall gross champion will also be awarded a prize. Door Prizes include clubs, driving range passes, cart passes, and much more, depending on the number of entrants.
