Kodiak Quad Spotlights Top Runners On Historic Course

Fort Abercrombie, a state historic site and historical World War II fortification, provided a scenic and challenging course for the Kodiak Quad Meet held outside of the City of Kodiak on Friday.

 

Chugiak Mustang female runners took the team title and the Colony boys swept the top three places and won the boys team title.  SoHi, Chugiak, Colony, Glenallen and Kodiak competed on the 5-kilometer course.

Girls Results

Mustang Campbell Peterson won the girls race in 19 minutes, 33 seconds followed by Chugiak’s Addison Capozzi and SoHi’s Sophia Jedlicki finished third in 20:20.  SoHi’s  Tania Boonstra was 13th in 21:46, Annie Burns was 16th in 21:57, Kaytlin McAnelly was 27th in 23:30, Delanie Wagers finished 28th in 23:36.

Boys Results

Colony’s Matthew Rongitsch topped the boys field in 17:22, followed by teammates Zac Cheyette and Coby Marvin.   Jacob Strausbaugh placed eighth in 18:21 for the top SoHi finish.
