Each week throughout the high school sports 2023-24 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.
For the week of May 7th:
- For the Kenai Kardinals is softball player Kaily Stynsberg
- Stynsberg for KCHS Softball earned a spot on the All-Tourney Team @ Bash on The Bay.
- For the Nikiski Bulldogs is soccer player Kevin Love
- Love has been selected for his excellent goalkeeping. He made saves on Saturday to keep his teammates in the game.
- For the Soldotna Stars is track and field athlete James Innes
- Innes won three of his four events at the Palmer Invite this weekend, helping his team win the championship.
Congratulations to all Peninsula Sports Athletes of the Week; each recipient will receive a 6-inch combo meal courtesy of Subway of the Kenai Peninsula.
