In dominant fashion, with unrelenting offense and stifling defense; the Soldotna Stars football team rolled-over the Lathrop Malemutes 69-23 in the 2019 ASAA First National Bowl Division II Football Championship recording a record eighth-straight football championship for Soldotna High School and capping an undefeated 2019 campaign.
The Stars scored six rushing touchdowns, two receiving touchdowns, one interception for a touchdown and the offense was stopped once in its first ten drives.

The SoHi defense held Lathrop to a single, first half touchdown while building a 41-7 halftime lead. The Stars lead 62-15 after three quarters. Lathrop’s Jace Henry scored three rushing touchdowns for Lathrop: 8 yard, 54 yard, 1 yard.
The Soldotna Stars record an eighth-straight Division II state championship; record a sixth, undefeated season in seven years (one loss since August 2012); extends current win streak to 18 games and takes home the ASAA championship “traveling” trophy ( which has only traveled to and from Soldotna High School!).
