Nine games in pool play spread through Friday and Saturday morning determined placement into bracketed play at the 2019 Lady Grizzly Volleyball Tournament hosted by Grace Christian School.
Wins in bracket play determined champions.
Platinum Bracket
The Soldotna Stars completed Pool A play with an 8-1 record with a lone loss to Wasilla. In the Platinum Bracket, SoHi meet Bartlett (also 8-1 in pool play) in the championship game with Bartlett winning game one 20-11, the Stars taking game two 23-21 and Bartlett topping the Stars in the title game 15-12.
Gold Bracket
The Nikiski Bulldogs finished Pool B play at 6-3 and advanced to the Gold Bracket championship to face Monroe Catholic from Fairbanks. Nikiski downed ACS to advance to play Monroe in the winner’s final. Nikiski had loss to Monroe early in bracket play; however, the Bulldogs rallied for the victory in the Gold Bracket final game.
The Kenai Kardinal girls finished fifth in the Gold Bracket after completing Pool A play with a 4-5 record. Kenai defeated Seward for its only win in the Gold Bracket.
