State Cross Country Championships Feature Peninsula’s Best

The 2022 ASAA Cross Country Running State Championships will spotlight the best of the Kenai Peninsula’s distance runners against the best Alaska offers on Saturday, October 8th on the Bartlett High School Trails in Anchorage.

 

Leading the peninsula runners, 2022 Region III DI girls champion Sophia Jedlicki from SoHi, Region III DII girls champion Haley Ingalls from Seward, Region III DII boys runner-up Homer’s Seamus McDonough and 2021 ASAA DII girls state champion Jayna Boonstra from Kenai High School.

 

The 2022 ASAA Cross Country Running State Championships feature a full day of competition with races in three divisions: I, II, III with girls and boys races.  Racing begins at 10 a.m. and runs through 3 p.m. on the Bartlett Trails.

 

Central Peninsula State Qualifiers (determined by Region III meet results)

Division II: Girls   

KCHS: Jayne Boonstra and Emilee Wilson

Division II: Boys  

KCHS: Gregory Fallon, Zane Tews, Chase Laker, Robert Carson, Logan Cartwright, Cooper Darlin and August Jaeger

Division I: Girls   

SoHi:  Sophia Jedlicki, Tania Boonstra, Annie Burns, Kaytlin McAnelly, Delania Wagers, Megan Whittom and Laurel Johnson

Division I: Boys   

SoHi: Jacob Strausbaugh
