Conference Road Games For SoHI & Kenai Football Spotlight Week Six Schedule

Road conference games fill the week six schedule for the Soldotna Stars and Kenai Kardinals with SoHi traveling to Palmer for NLC football and the Kardinals traveling to Redington for Mid-Alaska Conference action.

 

Friday Night Football

 

SoHi vs Palmer @ Palmer High School    7 p.m.    ESPN 1140AM, 96.9FM and radiokenai.com

The Soldotna Stars will face Northern Lights Conference opponent Palmer on Friday, September 16th with SoHi traveling to Machetanz Field at Palmer High School for a 7 p.m. game under the lights.

The Stars play their second NLC game of the regular season, following a 55-21 dismantling of the Chugiak Mustangs in week five.  SoHi has dominated the regular season with 266 points through five games, averaging over 52 points per game with wins over North Pole, Service, West Valley, South and Chugiak.

Palmer currently stands at 0-5 on the season and 0-2 in the NLC.  The Moose fell to DI Colony 55-3 in week five and dropped a 20-0 decision to Chugiak in NLC play in week four.  Palmer has scored only one touchdown in five games; a single touchdown in a 24-6 loss to the Kenai Kardinals.

 

Kenai vs Redington @ Redington    7 p.m.  KSRM 920AM and radiokenai.com

The Kenai Kardinals look to add a fourth victory of the season with the Kardinals traveling to Redington High School on Friday to face the 2021 Division III  State Champion Redington Huskies in a 7 p.m. contest.

The Huskies defeated Kenai in the 2021 playoffs enroute to the state title.  Kenai is coming-off an impressive 48-0 victory over Kodiak and the Kardinals are averaging 27 points per game with victories over Kodiak, Palmer and Eielson.  Redington is winless on the season with an 0-4 record.  After running-up over 51 points per game in 2021; the Huskies has scored only three touchdowns in 2022.

 

Nikiski Football

The Bulldogs varsity has another off-week with the loss of the Valdez football program.  The Bulldogs junior varsity will play Homer at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Homer High School.
