Luke Yacinich returned to the mound following his 7-inning no-hitter in Yacinich’s last outing and threw seven scoreless innings and allowed only one hit through six innings in a 4-3 Oilers victory over the Anchorage Bucs.

Oilers 4 – Bucs 3

The Oilers carried a 4-0 lead into the ninth inning and reliever Jake Putnam recorded a pair of outs with runners on base to earn the save for the Oilers.  Yacinich earned his second-straight win as the Oilers starter.

Offensively, the Oilers opened the scoring in the second inning on a John Hanley home run.  In sixth inning, two-run double by Bryce Marsh staked the Oilers to a 3-0 lead.  Leading 3-0 into the eighth inning, Andrew Sojka drove in what proved to be the winning run with an RBI single.

The Oilers take three of five from the Anchorage Bucs in the homestand and improve to 6-12 in the ABL.

The Oilers are off on Wednesday and return to ABL play on Thursday, July 1st at 7:00 pm. against the Anchorage Glacier Pilots.
