Stars Hunt Down Moose 49-7 In NLC Football

Seven drives and seven-straight rushing touchdowns for the Soldotna Stars football team as SoHi ran-over the Palmer Moose 49-7 in Northern Lights Conference football action on Friday night at Palmer High School.

 

SoHi 49 – Palmer 7

The Soldotna starting defense held Palmer scoreless for 3 1/2 quarters and the reserves allowed only a single touchdown in the final minutes for the 49-7 Star victory.

The SoHi running game was punishing, as the Stars offensive linemen dominate upfront and the “four horsemen” of the SoHi backfield rushed for 335 yards lead by Gehret Medcoff with 131 yards  and two touchdowns; Wyatt Faircloth totaling 110 yards and two touchdowns; Quarterback Zac Buckbee carried for 50 yards and two rushing touchdowns and Collin Peck added a touchdown for SoHi.  Buckbee also completed a pair of 25+ yard passes, each setting-up a SoHi score.

SoHi improves to 6-0 in the regular season and 2-0 in the Northern Lights Conference. The Stars are averaging 52 points per game and the starting defense has allowed only less than one touchdown per game.
